Expert session on the participation of ESS owners in trading on electrical energy (capacity) markets
On 16 April 2020 at 12:00 the EnergyNet Infrastructure Centre and Market Council NP will hold a web-based expert session on the participation of storage units in the electrical energy and capacity markets. The operation of ESS on the wholesale and retail electrical energy and capacity markets in Russia requires changes to the current regulatory framework. But what is the best approach to make this change? What market participation model really motivates ESS owners to start earning money in these markets? We invite developers, manufacturers, and owners of ESS to answer these questions together with us. The expert session will include a presentation of the concept for owners of electrical energy storage systems to trade on the wholesale and retail electrical energy and capacity markets, along with an analysis of regulatory barriers and approaches to overcoming them. The event is held in the format of an expert discussion using remote communication tools. The expected result is to confirm the assumptions made in the concept and agree on approaches to amending the regulatory framework for ESS owners when operating in the electrical energy and capacity markets.
